This notice applies to all information collected for or submitted to the Bibcheck Web site. On some pages, you can make requests and register to receive materials. The types of personal information collected on these pages are:

For example, if you believe that Bibcheck bibliography formatting services would be useful to a peer, you can elect to send our general information to them via email. How We Use Information
We use the information you provide about yourself to format your custom bibliography and to send to you communications related to our service, if you have registered (for example, we may send a 'thank you' package for your patronage or a newsletter). We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to format your bibliography.

We use the data that you provide about other people when we send information or one-time invitations. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to provide the requested information. We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.

We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our Web site and to share with advertisers. For example, we may tell an advertiser that X number of individuals visited a certain area on our Web site or that Y number of men and Z number of women filled out our registration form, but we do not disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals. To accomplish this type of analysis, we use both cookies and log file data.

Some of our business partners (e.g., advertisers) use cookies on our site. We have no access to or control over these cookies. This privacy statement covers the use of cookies by Bibcheck on www.bibcheck.com only, and does not cover the use of cookies by advertisers.

Like most standard Web site servers, we use log files. This includes Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser types, Internet service providers (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform types, date/time stamps, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track users' movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information, except to prevent fraud.

A cookie is a segment of data that is stored on the user's computer that is tied to information about the user. We use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies for navigation and browser session maintenance and to understand traffic patterns generally on our site. In reference to session ID cookies, once users close their browsers, the cookies simply terminate. A persistent cookie is a small text file stored on the user's hard drive for an extended period of time. Persistent cookies can be removed by following Internet browser help file directions. Session ID cookies are not tied to your personal information.

From time-to-time, we may provide you with the opportunity to participate in contests or surveys on our site. If you participate, we will request certain personally identifiable information from you. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you, therefore, do not have to disclose this information.
